Angry Orchard & Lyman Orchard
As soon is autumn rolled in, a few of my friends invited me to tag along with them on an afternoon trip to Angry Orchard. I'm not really a fan of alcoholic cider, but I figured that I would go check it out for the fun of it; I definitely made the right call!
Upon arrival at the orchard, I was taken aback by the beauty of the grounds! You're practically navigating through a maze of apple trees as soon as you enter the property. Sadly the apples aren't for picking (but they make really great photo backdrops)! Since we went on a weekend, we weren't able to pick out the flavors for our flights, however during the week you get to choose your own! We tasted Walden Hollow, Easy Apple, and Knotty Pear. Surprisingly, I thought they were all really yummy, but Knotty Pear was hands down my favorite! Oh and did I mention that the flight is free? Yeah, completely insane.
The outdoor area was absolutely amazing! There was live music, a fire pit, tons of lawn games, and some great food options. We snacked on some freshly made apple cider donuts from Aye! Oh! Donuts while finishing off our flights. As the afternoon winded down, we opted to skip the line for the food truck and found a great restaurant on the way home, Billy Joe's Ribworks, where I literally ate my weight in mac and cheese.
Keeping up the weekend of autumn activities going, the following day I made my annual pilgrimage to Lyman Orchard! The corn maze at Lyman is my absolute favorite! When you enter, you get to choose from a selection of trivia cards to help you navigate through the maze. It's a ton of fun when you're in a group trying to answer the trivia questions correctly and not make too many wrong turns on the way! After snacking on some kettle corn and apple cider donuts while making our way through the maze, we headed up to the apple orchard for a bit. Cue the cheesy apple picking photos. :)
