Holly Golightly Costume
Are you super last minute (similar to this blog post) and looking for a classic Halloween costume that won’t break the bank? This Holly Golightly costume is super easy to create; as an added bonus, you may already have some of the supplies in your closet already!
Supplies:
white shirt dress (or an oversized oxford shirt, your boyfriend’s shirt, etc.)
black buttons
seam ripper
white thread
sewing needle
DIY time:
Using the seam ripper, gently remove the clear buttons from the top half of the shirt - be careful not to damage the fabric surrounding the buttons in the process
Using a needle and thread, sew the black buttons on to the shirt where the clear buttons were removed - be sure that your new buttons will properly align with the buttonholes before sewing them on
It’s really that simple; two quick steps that should take you under ten minutes!
To complete the look, don’t forget the accessories:
tassel earrings - I was going for more of a Big Little Lies vibe and went with a pink pair, but if you’re keeping it classic and going the Breakfast at Tiffany’s route, go with a lavender pair
the perfect manicure - which happens to be one of my all time favorite colors
a fun pair of sequin slippers or fluffy pumps
